“ We had a great experience at Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings. From the moment we arrived, the service was polite, prompt, and efficient. Our server, Jenny, was friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. We started with the scallion pancakes, which were crisp and flavorful, and pork buns, which were tender and flavorful, with a nice crispy bottom. Next, we had the Lucky 6 soup dumplings, which were perfectly cooked and packed with rich broth. The pork buns were soft, well-filled, and a great way to round out the meal. “ Hands down one of the most satisfying meals I’ve ever had. Sometimes you have something spectacular that hurts your wallet, or something mid that was light on your pocket. This was amazing food at a great price. Everything tasted great. George was a server, but other servers checked in on our drink and such. “ This place is amazing. We visited on a Thursday night and had a short wait. The staff was working incredibly hard to make sure everyone was seated as quick as they could. The food was simply divine. We had soup dumplings, pot stickers and crispy noodles along with pumpkin cakes. My taste buds are still dancing with delight. Our server was attentive, service was fast, staff was very friendly. This is a fantastic addition to South Side Works. We can't wait to come back! Seriously try the pumpkin cakes! ”
“ My hubby, daughter and I visited the restaurant for lunch today. It was our first time there. We've been wanting to try it since it opened. The restaurant is very nice and inviting and the staff were eager to assist us. Zhu was very helpful as he told us how to eat the dumplings and the soup. He even gave my daughter a treat as we were leaving. The food was really good. My favorite was the shrimp wontons in peanut sauce. I highly recommend. We will definitely visit again for a date night. ”
“ Food was very good and the price was reasonable. We tried a lot of dishes and it still was comparable in price to a chain restaurant. The Nan Xiang soup dumplings were so good! Chicken soup dumplings were just ok, next time I'd try something else. Staff was very attentive and kept an eye out for when we needed anything. Food came out very quickly too. “ 5 stars simply underscores how well the visit was here. A huge part of this was our waitress Jenny!!!!¡ the host was a well organized staff who oversee their sections, cross check orders and keep the flow going. One of my items was already sold out that day and when Jenny came to inform us she also had a suggestion line up for substitution. Stars on the food was the upon beef noodles and the crispy ham turnip bites!!!! Now for the details on the experience and what I was blown away seeing in action that makes this place so successful on turning the tables. The host does a well organized run of ensuring people are checked in the wait que in front of him and double checks the computer list to the people he sees to ensure if there is a walkout they aren't holding a table. Two people direct report to him to assist with seating. There are three wings to were people are seated each with a person overseeing the section, a busboy who doubles as checking drink levels, and two waiters/waitresses. All areas can see the kitchen area to watch a large variety of items being prepped while you wait. Overall a hands down great experience. Also for the service and food quality it is priced according to its atmosphere but you could still enjoy a wonderful meal out with a budget of 15 or splurge a little with 20-25. The best value is to come with someone who is willing to share and you can enjoy a great sample of treats to try by ordering a small spread the first time to try a couple pieces of different dishes when sharing. “ My sister told me this chain was her favorite restaurant and I immediately was skeptical. But she took me here and I understood the hype! We got pan fried pork buns, Shanghai stir fried udon, and the lucky 6. Everything was so yummy! My sister got the jasmine cocktail which was refreshing. All food was hot and fresh. I was surprised at how quickly it came out. Service was awesome and friendly! All in all, really delicious! ”

The sever was extremely attentive and got us everything we needed and setting us in. I don’t normally leave reviews but the food was actually amazing my partner and I got: Scallion pancake with beef, Shredded potato, Sweet and sour fish, Crap meat and pork, Chicken dumplings and the Shanghai udon. To tops things off John was absolutely fantastic making sure things were tasting ok and that we had everything we needed. Definitely a must try in Pittsburgh 10/10. ”
